Karen has been a part of Independence Capital Financial Partners (ICFP) since its founding in 2012. Among the many marketing activities she provides, Karen created, and continues to develop, ICFP’s quarterly newsletter with the intent of incorporating a personal touch in communication with clients. Along with her marketing responsibilities, Karen is the event planner for ICFP’s annual Client Appreciation Breakfast as well as their annual Crosstown Classic fundraiser for Blue Cap.
In an effort to enhance her understanding of the services that ICFP offers, Karen has completed a course and acquired her certificate as a financial para-planner, and most recently, she has completed courses and has successfully passed both the Life Insurance Licensing and Health & Accident Insurance Licensing exams.
Karen has been involved in her children’s elementary school PTO for the past 11 years, where she has planned multiple PTO sponsored family events. In addition, Karen is a current member of the Plainfield Junior Women’s Club, which is a subsidiary of the General Federation of Women’s Club of Illinois (GFWC-IL), where she volunteers for various service projects throughout her community. For many years Karen also has been, and continues to be, involved in activities and events which raise funds and awareness for Blue Cap, an organization dedicated to serving infants, children, and adults with developmental disabilities. In 2009 and 2010, Karen participated in the Chicago Avon Walk for Breast Cancer where she walked 39 miles in two days with a commitment to investing in research on the prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of breast cancer.
Karen resides in Plainfield, Illinois, with her husband Brian, and their three children. In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, volunteering, reading, and event planning.
